Fields of Law: Potentially a wide range, depending on the focus topic chosen by the student in consultation with the project supervisor. Likely to include constitutional law, may include criminal law, privacy law, etc.

About:

CCLA fights for the civil liberties, human rights, and democratic freedoms of all people across Canada. We are an independent, national, nongovernmental organization, working in the courts, before legislative committees, in classrooms and in the streets, protecting the rights and freedoms cherished by Canadians and entrenched in our Constitution.

Project Details

Talk Rights is a CCLA initiative to create well-researched, accessible, and engaging public education materials on current civil liberties and human rights topics for the CCLA website.

Who can apply?

First-year students are eligible to apply. Written materials may be created in English or French but training will be conducted in English, requiring oral comprehension and communication skills in English.

Students should enjoy writing or other forms of creative communication and be engaged/interested in current events as they impact on civil liberties, government accountability, the rule of law and CCLA’s various program areas.
